In each of these cities, with the exception of bilingual Brussels, either a Germanic or a Romance state language has a dominant status in public life.
This book is the outcome of the Multilingual CitiesProject, a study based on large-scale empirical findings and carried out under the auspices of the European Cultural Foundation.
