KET Vocabulary List

The KET list was originally developed by Cambridge ESOL in consultation with external consultants to guide item writers who produce materials for the KET examination.

 

 

It includes vocabulary from the Council of Europe’s Waystage (1990) specification and other vocabulary which has been shown by corpus evidence to be high-frequency.

Classroom activities for KET for schools and PET for schools exam preparation classes

There are 3-4 activities for teaching each skill: reading (crossword completion, complete cloze, split dialogues), writing (correction code, expanding sentences, group story), listening (stories, grids, using songs, telephone messages) and speaking (circle time news, more question ideas, let's talk about it, one-minute talk).

 

 

These can be also adapted to use with adult learners.
